Wes Mann, aka "Captain Hood"

The only White Man known to have been born on Jedediah Island, Wes lived in the old homestead with his 11 siblings until age 5, whereupon the family moved next door to Lasqueti Island, where the nearest school was located. There, he became a commercial fisherman at the tender age 13.

Due to his keen ability to navigate the coastal passages and his leadership qualities, he was quickly promoted to Captain, at the ripe old age of 20.

Wes continued to fish for salmon, herring, halibut, black cod and prawns for the next 25 years. These exciting ventures afforded him to gain extensive knowledge of the BC Coast.

After retiring from fishing, and subsequent careers, "Capt. Hood" was drawn back to the Sea. He has since owned a half dozen different pleasure craft and has explored the vast waters surrounding Vancouver Island... The Salish Sea and Desolation Sound being among his favorite.

In 2022, Wes purchased his latest, in along line of vessels, a Classic 50' Monk... During the Spring of 2023, she under went an extensive, full renovation, to restore her to her former glory. Cruise in style on this spacious, grande 50' Monk!

Come enjoy the spectacular scenery and magnificent wildlife that this Coast has to offer!
